New church

"From Humble Beginnings"

The Church of Christ at East Side had its humble beginnings in 1933 when the elders of the University Avenue and Southside churches of Christ combined their efforts to sponsor a gospel meeting at 701 Red River. They called Brother Jessie T. Burson (a prominent African American evangelist in the church of Christ) to conduct the meeting. Several individuals were baptized into Christ, and thus the East Side church of Christ began.

First Worship in our new edfice is March 31, 2013.

Building in Progress

We thank each of you for your support as we celebrate the goodness of our great God; for without His blessings none of this would be possible. As Nehemiah said "...this work was done by our god"( Nehemiah 6:16)
