Dr. Tarcia Hubert is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Lone Star College in The Woodlands, TX. She has been working in higher education for 11 years and holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics Education from Texas A&M University. Dr. Hubert is also the Founding Executive Director of Making Awesome Things Happen (M.A.T.H.) nonprofit organization (est. 2010) which is an organization dedicated to developing mathematical proficiency in traditionally underrepresented students. M.A.T.H. provides quality free tutoring and summer camps, and low cost professional development to its targeted audience. Dr. Hubert’s passion includes finding ways to effectively support underrepresented students of color in their learning and understanding of mathematics. She is also interested in increasing minority students’ participation in STEM fields. Dr. Hubert is also a proud wife and mother, and loves spending time with her family and enjoys spending free time traveling. Dr. Hubert is a member of the Jersey Village Church of Christ in Jersey Village, Texas.
